RIFT AND QUARTER SAWN FLOORING
If unique is what you seek, look no longer. Rift and quarter sawn wood creates very distinctive grain patterns that accent natural wood characteristics such as medullary fleck rays and wavy, interlocking grain. The result is a very beautiful, very durable hardwood that also reduces risk of shrinking, splintering, warping and cupping.

Hardness Ratings By Species
Zickgraf manufactures 100% solid hardwood flooring. Our domestic hardwoods are selected from the great Appalachian forests where the wood matures to a dense, consistent grain and color.

You can choose from a variety of hardwood species. The Janka Hardness test (see chart) measures the force required to embed a .444-inch steel ball to half its diameter in wood. It is one of the best measures of the ability of a wood species to withstand denting and wear.
